Magic & The Occult

Magic (also spelt magick, majik, etc) has varied definitions, beliefs, and practices. A core belief about magic is that a practitioner can affect change on either, or both, the internal or external world, through powers of their mind (intention). The exact nature of this is subject to debate.

Psychosynthesis & Transpersonal Psychology

Psychosynthesis was developed by Robert Assagioli, a contemporary of both Sigmund Freud and Carl Jung. Unknown to many, Assagioli was a member of the Theosophical Society. While Assagioli appears to have distanced himself from Kabbalah, many people recognise elements of Kabbalistic thought within the system. Others see similarities with shamanism. Israel Regardie wrote a brief introduction on the Psychosynthesis in his book The Middle Pillar (Transpersonal Psychology: The Balance Between Mind and Magic)

Trance / Trancework

Trance is a general term relating to altered states of consciousness. Specifically it covers practices related to meditation and hypnosis. Trancework is literally “working with trance[s]“.
